Golden State Bears ~ Barry Giersch

(2007) Hello, my name is Barry Giersch, but my friends call me Bear. I am a big Golden State Warriors fan so I chose Golden State as my team name because my home town name of Madera (CA.) was already taken. We hope to build our team using all methods available, the draft, free agency, and trades. Our goal is to make it back to the Super Bowl and WIN! Having been in the playoffs in our first four years was great, but going into our 5th year we want to make the big step toward a Super Bowl Championship.

I am a forty-four year old Madera High school teacher/football coach. I teach special education. I have coached for the last 15 years, six on Varsity. I have been teaching special education for the last 6 years. I was a youth Pastor for Fourteen years before teaching.

I have been married for twenty-four years to a wonderful lady. I have four children, Brittany 23, Breanna 19, Blake 11, and Bailey 9. My son plays football and Basketball. My daughters are all involved on dance competition teams with my wife's dance studio. My oldest is the Dance coach at Madera High school.

My favorite team is the Minnesota Vikings since 1971. My favorite players are Chuck Foreman, Carl Eller, Cris Carter, Tarvaris Jackson, Kevin Williams, and Adrian Peterson. I am a BIG David Carr fan as well.

My Hobbies are FOOTBALL, movies, study of history, and the Age of Empires computer Game

Commish Notes: Barry joined in with the UFL in 2003, has made the playoffs every year he's been in the league, and is currently in the Top 5 active coaches in winning percentage (44 - 20). Made a Super Bowl run in his first season, with an impressive win over the unbeaten and heavily favored Roswell Visitors to advance to the big game. Barry has three division championships to his credit.

(2007) Hi there welcome to the home of the Madera Crusaders of the UFL. Last Year was a very tuff year for Madera where we went winless.
This year the Crusaders are still rebuilding were looking for some help at the QB position or it will be another long year for the Crusaders.

We hope that by next year with the draft that we had this year that our offence will get the help that it needs to make a run at the playoffs. As for me I live in Madera CAL. This is in the middle of the state right now I am substitute teacher and also work part time at company called Primerica Financial Services.

Commish Notes: Brent joined up with the UFL in 2001 and led his team to their first division title in 2004. Brent holds an overall 39 - 57 record and is currently rebuilding to get back to his team's impressive 2004 form.

(2007) Well, as all of you know, I am the Commissioner.

I am 31 years old and was born and raised in Utah. I have also lived for short periods of time in California, Connecticut, Georgia, and Texas. My goal is to visit the Packer Hall of Fame along with seeing a game at Lambeau Field in person.

I have been working at eBay Inc. since April of 2003. Have gone back to school in January of 2006, and am majoring in Psychology.

I live in West Jordan with my wife Erin. Our wedding was on October 22nd, 2005. We also have a kitty named Emmy, and are expecting a baby girl this coming July. (7-7-07 in fact). We have already decided on the name Zoe. I have a great son, Locke, from my previous marriage. He actually lives with his Grandmother and on a ranch, so I guess he'll grow up to be a cowboy. Hopefully he won't have an interest in wearing those giant belt buckles.

My other hobbies besides football and webpage design are, reading, going to the movies when I can, writing, and spending as much time as I can playing Xbox 360- mostly sports and RPG's.

I have enjoyed being the Commissioner of this league immensely, and look forward to continuing doing so for many years into the future. Looking forward to another great season as the Utah Football League gets set to move to its ninth season.

Notes: Erik has an overall record of 59 - 85 and has run two different teams in the league. Originally the Orem Panthers (now the Crusaders), Erik went to the championship game in the inagural season, but fell to the Tri-City Revolution 16 - 3. Erik is looking for his first winning season with his current team in 2007.

My wife Shannon has decided to return to college and get a teaching certificate. My wife and I have three kids: Hannah, age 7...James, age 6...and Camille, age 3. The girls are very active in dancing, while James spends his winters doing Tai-Kwan-Do. Hannah and James are involved in numerous little league activities...soccer and baseball/softball...James also participates in little league wrestling.

Commish Notes: Pierce came into the league as one of the 2003 expansion teams. After a few frustrating years, Pierce changed his coaching philosophy and led his team to their first playoff appearance in 2006. Pierce currently holds a 22 - 42 record overall.
