Arizona Scorpions ~ Dave Ellis |
|
![]() |
(2007) Just moved from Wisconsin Rapids to The Phoenix area in May of 2007. I accepted a position with The Vanguard Group, a well known mutual fund and financial services company in Scottsdale, as a Products and Service Specialist. Which is a fancy name for someone that helps advise clients how to invest their hard earned $$$$$. |
| Commish Notes: Dave was one of the original members of the UFL in the 1998 season. After a year long absence in 1999 Dave returned and has been a force ever since. Dave is another of the few who've been in the playoffs every year he's been in the league and is second only to Larry for most playoff appearances. Dave earned his first Super Bowl berth in 2004. His overall record stands at 92 - 36 ranking him at #3 on the active coaches list. Dave is also on pace to break the 100 win mark this season. | |
Austin Vipers ~ Randy Lorensen |
|
no pic at this time |
(2007) My name is Randy Lorensen. I'm a 37 year old who has been self employed ever since college. I recently moved from Austin, Texas to Las Vegas, NV. Since, I play poker for a living I was spending about half my time in Vegas anyway. I got sick of hotels and all the extra costs associated. Poker allows me great freedom not to mention an enjoyable way to make a living. I'm originally from central Minnesota and lived in the Minneapolis area from the time I was 18 on with a brief moment of insanity which took me to Iowa. Minnesota is great , but just way too cold. I'm a sports nut, especially football. I still play football and basketball when I can. But, a back injury I had a couple years ago has cut that down to maybe once a week. During the fall I watch an enormous amount of football. I also enjoy computers and traveling. I took over a very old team (old is being kind) a few years back. The roster has now been completely overhauled. My goal at that time was to be good in 2003 (our 3rd year) and compete for a championship in 2004. I guess you can say mission accomplished. The 2004 team came together better than even I anticipated (especially considering what we started with just a couple years earlier). The team was built primarily through the draft with some key free agent moves as well as many trades, some of which have worked and some that haven't. We are in the middle of rebuilding. |
I didn't anticpate this process being as tough as it has turned out to be. But, a couple bad trades, some poor draft picks and a ton of injuries have kept this team in the second or even third tier last year and likely again this year. However, we have some good young players who should develop in the next year or two and a ton of cap room. So, with a little luck the Vipers will back at or near the top next year. |
|
Commish Notes: Randy jumped into the league in 2002, and created a championship team for the 2004 season. Randy's success has put him just outside of the active Top 5 in winning percentage. Randy holds a 62 - 34 record in his UFL career. 2004 season UFL Champions |

Bay City Blitz ~ Bryon Fassone |
|
![]() |
(2007) Glad to be back!!! I'm Bryon Fassone the owner of the new Bay City Blitz franchise. The Bay City Blitz has taken over the old Cedar Rapids team, and we could not be any happier with the roster. We have a great mix of youth and veteran leadership and a ton of cap space. Expectations are high in Bay City for our first year, as we expect to make the playoffs, and compete for the division crown. Were hoping that, with a couple of roster changes, some good coaching, and a little luck, the Blitz may be able to compete for the championship this year. I am a 36 year old Operations Manager, who resides in Saginaw ("Sagnasty" as it has become known as) Michigan. I am truly a blessed man, as I am able to share everything with the love of my life, Christa Fassone and three wonderful children in Katie (11), Nicholas (9), and Brady (2 months). I am a Detroit Lions fan (step one complete, admitting I have a problem). Year in and year out I am suckered into believing this may be the year, and of course it's another 5-11 team drafting another WR in the first round. Not much is changed since I was 6 years old, this year I'm excited again as the Lions offense should be fun to watch, and there defense should be improved. So once again, I'm getting suckered in. I also enjoy playing softball (modified or slow pitch), golf and playing fantasy football. |
I'm excited to be back and look forward to playing in the UFL again. Good luck to everyone this year!!!! |
|
| Commish Notes: Bryon returns for his second stint in the UFL this season after leaving at the conclusion of the 2005 season to take care of non-football related needs. Bryon has been to the playoffs in each of his previous 3 seasons in the league, but is still hunting for that elusive first win. Bryon holds a strong 22 - 10 record. | |

(2007) Hello, my name is Antone Adams and I am the owner of the Park Hill Atoms. We have finally made the trek back to our place of origin, with stops in Adamsville (TN and GA) and Montbello (CO) along the way. While we were glad to be back in the Mile High City last year, we are happy to finally settle in at Park Hill for the long haul, especially after the city agreed to our renovations of the Park Hill Pavillion, including a retractable roof, which will not be in play during the UFL season, as it still awaits UFL ownership approval (I am sure this will continue to be a staple in the rules committee session during the offseason.) We also welcome our team mascot, Gandalf the White and the rest of the 'Tolkienheads' to the Pavillion, as the Atoms go in pursuit of the One True Ring (UFL Championship). To that end, the Atoms feature talented players Michael Vick, Terrell Owens, Laveraneus Coles, Tony Gonzalez and Tiki Barber on offense. Hard hitting veteran and long time Atoms/Stallions player John Lynch anchors a defense that again will operate the infamous 'smoke and mirrors'. The team is looking foward to putting on the Park Hill Gold uniforms once again, but it will definitely be an uphill climb to reach the 3 victories achieved last year in Montbello. It may even be a stretch to get to the 2 victories the Park Hill Stallions achieved back in their initial UFL season. With a boatload of picks in the 2008 draft, and the rookie class of kickers signed for next season, the Atoms are ready to start building toward a bright future. The bright spots for this franchise continue to be an appearance in Super Bowl II in 2000, a loss to the Toledo Rocks 59 - 10 as the Springville Sidewinders, and a 43 - 36 victory over Roswell in 2004, giving the 14 - 2 Visitors their only other loss during the regular season. |
This was the last UFL season that a championship was not claimed by founding member and coach Matt Kreamer. The therapy and Championship coach Randy Lorensen's Austin Vipers saw to that. But the Atoms acheived a 7 - 9 mark, one of the best seasons ever from a coaching standpoint. 'The worst defense in the history of the UFL' as recorded by the UFL 'Sleuth' stayed in contention for the playoffs until the last week of the season. On the personal side, I am in my 2nd year of Marriage to my wife Janine, and I have two bundle of energy boys, Cameron and Brandon, who are 11 and 8, respectively. I have been a employee for 10 years of the Postal Service. |
|
| Commish Notes: Antone has been in the UFL since 2001. Still looking for his first winning season and playoff appearance, Antone takes small satisfaction in trying to defeat the 'heavy hitters' of the league, such as Roswell and Eisenhower. Antone currenly holds a 29 - 67 record. | |
St. Louis Cyclones ~ Ken Leiser |
|
![]() |
(2007) Hi everyone. My name is Ken Leiser and I am 44 years old (ugh!) and live in the Midwest after spending most of my life in California. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. I guess I didn’t get enough humidity and bratwursts in my youth. |
But my biggest accomplishment was fooling the former Jennifer Jones (now Jennifer Leiser) into marrying a sports junkie (read: nerd) whose pastimes have included APBA and Strat-O-Matic baseball. Before having my doors blown off two years’ running by the Roswell Visitors and Kreamer, my closest brush with greatness was playing in the same high school baseball league as future Big Unit Randy Johnson. |
|
| Commish Notes: Ken signed on to coach starting in the the 2005 season, and took his team to their first ever playoff appearance last season. Ken is looking build on that and get a division title next. Ken has a 17 - 15 record. | |
